 Assignment 1

In Act III Macbeth becomes king but after he send the murderers to kill Banquo and Fleance, and they only killed Banquo, he starts watching the ghost of Banquo, this shows the fear that Macbeth has. The murder of king Duncan was something that maybe Macbeth didn’t wanted, but he was completely influenced by Lady Macbeth and by the predictions that the witches had.

 Macbeth made the things that he didn’t wanted and now he is trying to face the reality of everything, but everything is going in the wrong way because as a quote says “lies fall because of their own weight” and it is true. Well, Macbeth made a mistake and now he has to face the reality of the situation.

 The knowledge of the future that Macbeth receive was a total mistake; well, even though the prediction  that says that he was going to become king was true, the situation would had arrived in the right moment, but the mistake was that Macbeth tried to take the future in his hands. He didn’t make the right things and now he can be discovered and he could loose the position of king.

 There is another quote that applies to this, it says that “every pig has his own Saturday”, and it says the truth, if you know that something will happen, do not eat the cake before you cook it; everything takes its time. Life is full of time, patience and tolerance; is important to know how to manage time in the right way. Is really important to enjoy every part of life, things will happen some day, but now is really important to be happy and live the future.  

 Macbeth is really foolish to attempt to control what is fate, if he received information about the future, he had to wait, not take the future in his hands. Macbeth had to be sure that one day he was going to become king, and that is called perseverance. Macbeth took the wrong way for everything, he was manipulated, and very ambitious, and that didn’t helped him to do what he thought that was right. He knew the right way but he didn’t follow it.

 Assignment 2

 Well I will start talking about the last question, because I think that is really important to know that future is something that God knows and if it would make a positive effect in our life, he would tell us about it. The future is a total mystery, something that we do not know but we can follow certain patterns to have a good or bad future. Life is full of new things and that is the interesting part of it, if we would know the future we wouldn’t make an effort to get better things and to become a better person.

If I knew the future, I know that the perseverance would not exist; I think that even I had the opportunity to know about the future, I would reject to hear it, life is a mystery, as I said before. My life is full of new things, I don’t know what will happen tomorrow and that is the best part of it. I know that sometimes we are in bad situations and want to know what will happen next of these bad situation, but this is how we grow as persons. Learning from our mistakes and from every situation in which we pass trough, make us grow in personality and that is what make us unique persons, that is why people say that the best way of learning is by personal experiences. I know that many people can learn from other person’s experiences, but personal experiences will teach us many things for life

My future will be a mystery for the rest of my life, and I know that everything is about fate and to make an effort to succeed in life. My perseverance is what makes me grow and I know that one day I can became what I want to be when I grow up. I need to make the effort and have my values clear to grow and to learn from my experiences and from my knowledge.

 My mother taught me to make a great effort to succeed and that my life is full of difficult and easy times, but if I’m sure about myself I can pass all the steps of life. She also taught me that I have to enjoy every part of my life; life is beautiful and full of experiences. The experiences and happiness that I gain in my life, no one can take it from me and it is the most important thing of life. I don’t know what will happen next week, but I’m sure that my life will be great if I have the necessary knowledge to succeed.

Clearly, life is full of many things and having the future as a total mystery is the best part of it. The mystery makes me fight for what I want for our life and grow in personality and in many other aspects. I think that with my personality I can pass the obstacles that I have in life and then I will succeed in what I want to succeed.

 In conclusion, my future will be a mystery for the rest of my life, and I know that everything is about fate and to make an effort to succeed in life. The perseverance in my life is what makes me grow and I know that one day I can became what I want to be when I grow up. I need to make the effort and have all the values that are necessary in my life to grow and to learn from my experiences and from my knowledge. I think that God gives life certain paths to follow for the future, so destiny is kind of written, but it is not complete, I believe that I can change the future following those paths that God gives me.

Act I

Events, dialogue and thoughts that reflect the changes in Macbeth.

Macbeth in Act I, shows his conscious and that maybe he should take back the power that the God mandates to him, but then he received bad influences that made him enter into a big confusion, so he starts thinking with an evil mind. On Act II, at the beginning Macbeth had an hallucination about having a dagger in his hands, so that represents that he is scared of killing the king and he doesn’t consider himself a killer o a bad person. He changes because of the influences and also he let himself go into the adrenaline that the situation has and the ambition of becoming king.

He seems to be a good person but easy to be manipulated. Before the witches appeared in Macbeth’s life, he seemed to be a good person, loyal with his king and country and a gentleman. After the witches told him that he was going to become a king, he started using all his good things in a bad way, his ambition is used to get what he want even though he had to kill the king and he becomes a liar and disrespectful person.

A neutral situation is when Macbeth is kind of confused because he doesn’t know what to do when the witches told him that he was going to become a king. So then he told this to Lady Macbeth and t hen he is influenced by her to kill the king and he agreed. In that moment, at the beginning, Macbeth seems to be confused, like he is showing his consciousness and then we can see his weakest point, because he is influence really fast by his wife, to kill the king.

Do you think Macbeth would have changed if the witches had not appeared? Explain.

I think that if the witches would not appear Macbeth wouldn’t knew about the future, the things would happen as things have to happen without any prediction. Macbeth seemed to be loyal but he was influenced by the witches, in this part he shows us his weakest point, the ambition of power. Before these things happened, Macbeth seemed to be a good person with consciousness, but everything made him confused.

Do you think most people are as susceptible to temptation as Macbeth? Explain why or why not.

Temptations are part of life, I think that God wants the best for us but I think that temptations are like lessons for us in life. I think that not everyone is as susceptible to temptations because people have to learn to say no, but the world is full of people without attitude that doesn’t learn how to do it. Most people think about the temptation and are weak to say no to it. The people who know how to reject a temptation are those who succeed in life and know how to manage their own life. These people need to teach others how to reject those temptations and to be secure of themselves, with attitude, to always try to go and look for the good side of life, and also to make the right paths for it.

Act II

Quotations that disclose Macbeth’s feelings about the murders. Write the quotations and explain each quote’s meaning in your own words.

One cried, “God bless us!” and “Amen” the other,
As they had seen me with these hangman’s hands.
Listening their fear, I could not say “Amen,”
When they did say, “God bless us!”

He felt sorry because of what he was doing, he was unable to say “Amen”          because he felt guilty and he really knew that what he was doing was wrong.

I heard a voice cry, “Sleep no more!
Macbeth does murther sleep” -the innocent sleep,
Sleep that knits up the ravel’d sleave of care,
The death of each day’s life, sore labor’s bath,
Balm of hurt minds, great nature’s second course,
Chief nourisher in life’s feast-

He says that after he had done his sleep was going to be gone forever, that wouldn’t sleep with tranquility again, and he really felt bad and guilty about the murder of the king.

Will all great Neptune’s ocean wash this blood
Clean from my hand? No, this my hand will rather

He was going to felt full of blood for the rest of his life, even though he cleans it, because he killed the king and before he did that he was loyal to him and he knew that killing him was something really bad and it was just made because of an ambitious.

Macbeth’s general state of mind after the murder.

He was not calmed, he felt really guilty but he knew that he do it because he wanted to be kind. I think that he made that because of the influence of the witches and the influence of his wife, because she was the one of the idea to take the situation in their hands. Maybe he thought that what he did was not something that he would think to do, something that was not part of him. Maybe he was a conscious person but his weakest point didn’t help him.

What do you think Macbeth should do to gain control of his feelings?

Maybe he should work on his attitude; he would be the one who has to have the control over his decisions and over his thoughts. He should not be influenced by others because just few people want to help us in the world, the rest just want to damage us. Maybe he let others to influence him because his innocent mind made him thought that those persons wanted to help him. Ok, maybe those persons wanted to help him to gain his power as a king, but I think that the way he took was not the right one. He also would have to work on the things he wants and to me comfortable with the things he had.

Have you ever heard about something that people says about to be scared of living things than to dead things, well I do not believe in that. I am a person who believes in spirits and in the apparitions of people who are dead. Well I know that this sounds weird and really scary, but I do not know why I am like this. I believe in the apparitions of God but in apparitions of spirits too. The day that my grandfather died was really sad, we did not spend too much time with him, he came from Costa Rica and stood here in Guatemala like five years and then he died. My aunt told us a story that day; she has a great relationship with my grandfather and was the daughter who had the best relationship with him. She says that one night she was sleeping and she dreamed that he went into a tornado and in that tornado she saw my grandfather and he was going into it. She waked up in she went to the place were my grandfather was, and in that moment he died. I believe in dreams but how does this thing happened? Well I think that my grandfather’s spirit gave her a message. In the moment that we were in the church, a storm made the father to stop and we had to wait until that stormed passed. After we went out of the church the church was wet because of the storm but nothing more was with drops of water, so what does that means? I think that, that was a message from my grandfather to say good-bye.

My life is full of fears, I know that I have to risk sometimes to get what I want but is really difficult to risk and you do not know what is going to happen. This leads me to another fear that I have, taking decisions. Decisions are something difficult; does decisions like “What I am going to wear today?” are not a problem, but does like “which university am going?” is a decision really difficult to choose because that is a path for my life and I do not know if I took the right path or not. I know I have to learn to take decisions but I really do not know what to do.

Another fear that I have is that I am really paranoiac, everything that happens around me, affects me. Suppose that I am in a mall and I see a policeman running, I start thinking that maybe he is running a thief. Things like that happen in my life, being paranoid is not something good but it has its benefits. This helps me to be careful with everything but also limits me from many things.

In conclusion I do not have many fears but the tree things that I fear are really difficult to fight. I hope that some day I can get rid of these fears and become a better person.

Passion is something that inspire us and make us continue in life. My life is full of things that make me continue, well I am a happy person and I believe in being a positive person to succeed in life and to be a person that will go up. Have you ever seen the power that the word “believe” has; well, if you can see, in every situation you have to imagine the best of it and you have to believe that positive things will come. So in my life I always believe in everything that can give me positive things for my future and for my life.

As you can seen, my passion in life is to be a positive person but that includes being happy and always trying to see the positive things of every situation. Of course life has some moments that are sad, but sad moments does not have to damage my future, I always have to be positive. Being this type of person includes being a perseverant person, which something really important for me, because I know that can do everything that I want to do, but I have to make effort to get it; so, my goals and dreams can be reached.

Another passion that I have in life is that I love nature, which is beautiful and incredible. Nature is something that inspires me, every passion that I have mixes up. Nature, beautiful days and beautiful places inspires me to follow my life, to be perseverant and to be positive. Nature is a piece of art made by God, which has to be protected and enjoyed. I love to take pictures of nature, like a beautiful garden with the light of the sun. One day I wish to buy my professional camara and continue taking pictures of nature. I believe in every campaign or organization that protects nature and environment. I think that God gave us nature and beautiful places and we have to take care of them, a great climate and a place without smog help people to survive, and also beautiful places maybe inspires another to continue in life.

I have another passion, which is that if I am a positive person and I know some clues to be happy, I have to share them with every person who is lost in life, sad or depressed. I always try to share every feeling of happiness and positivism that I have. IN conclusion, my passions are part of the world and life that inspires me to be happy and to follow life with a great perspective because life is beautiful, but everybody has to believe in it to find it and to be a happy and positive person to succeed in their lives.
